Our Lady of Peace
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6) As a parent of three daughters attending Our Lady of Peace school, I am truly grateful for the values instilled in my children every day. In conjunction with a stellar education surpassing all of my expectations, a foundation based on love of God and neighbor is being engrained in my children’s everyday life. We are blessed to be apart, of this faith community and confident that this experience will lead these kids to a successful academic future and most importantly a life lived in service to God and others. The Our Lady of Peace family is truly “The People of Peace.”
Pam Lizon, Grandparent
Madonna High School, Weirton
“I am so thankful for the diverse opportunities that you offer our child through his religion studies and other life experiences. At Madonna High School the children receive far more than a high school education. MHS is a gem in the community.”
Asha Leggett, Parent
St. Joseph School, Huntington
“Our world changed the moment we requested to tour St Joseph Catholic School. Our son transitioned into their Kindergarten class after the school year started and we were relieved and grateful that the atmosphere was so positive. The strong sense of community was immediately felt from day one. We knew that our values were reflected in the school and that faith-based education was the future for our family. The teachers provide personal and invaluable lessons that will shape the future and forever be cherished in our household.”
Laura Deiriggi, Parent
St. Francis de Sales Central Catholic School, Morgantown
"Catholic education is important to our family because it is an investment in our children's lives that is priceless in many ways. We especially value that the learning environment in Catholic schools is Christ centered and service oriented because we hope that our children will take those lessons with them beyond school. The smaller setting allows them to learn and grow in a calm and consistent environment, making it easier to focus and develop close relationships with friends and teachers. These experiences, along with the excellent academic standards, form a strong foundation in faith for our children that our family is thankful to have in our community."
Angela Carter, Parent
St. Joseph School, Martinsburg
“Providing our children with the best possible education in a Catholic context has been a priority for us. St Joseph's School has promoted academic and spiritual growth in my daughters, teaching them to be successful in high school, as well as keeping Christ at the center of their lives.”
Jen Komorowski, Parent
St. Michael Parish School
My kids finished the year strong! It was clear the St. Michael Parish School teachers and staff were going above and beyond during the remote learning period – Google Meets, emails, reminders, videos, creative assignments, etc. I feel confident going forward that our staff can handle anything!

Parkersburg Catholic Elementary School
Attending Parkersburg Catholic Elementary has made me thrive in my faith, knowledge, and skill.
Erin Augenstein, Parent and Alum
Parkersburg Catholic, Parkersburg
“We didn't just choose PC schools for our children because we're alumni. Faith-based education is important to us, and there are several options for elementary faith-based education in our community. The PCES mission to think of others before self, and to serve others are very important in our family. We're active in our community in many ways, and we wanted a school environment that supported us. We also continue to choose PC Schools each year because we know that our financial investment will pay off with scholarship opportunities for our daughters as they approach college. The data around how many PC graduates pay 50% or less of their college tuition is overwhelming. Additionally, our daughters are active in the arts, and our family needs an educational environment that can support them when they miss school for gigs, large shows out of town, and auditions. The staff and faculty has been instrumental in helping to accommodate and plan for absences for these performance and audition opportunities that will likely be careers for them.”
The Redman Family

Angel Blake, Parent

“We make the sacrifice to send our children to Notre Dame because it is important to us. Notre Dame is helping them to live their daily lives as Christians. Notre Dame is their home. At Notre Dame, they know they are loved. Not only are we able to instill good morals in them and show them how to lead and live a good life, but so do their principal and teachers.”

Corpus Christi School
“Corpus Christi School is a place where you are family. My husband and I knew that we wanted our three children to have a Catholic education. We actually moved closer to CCS so we could send them there. It is a tradition in our family to go to CCS. Our kids are the fourth Crusader generation to attend this school. We are so grateful and blessed to call Corpus Christi School our home where our children get the best Catholic education to set them up for the future,”
Rhonda Wilson, Parent

Life has been crazy, but one thing remained the same – our teachers have continued to shine and be there for our kids with Zoom, encouragement, and regular lessons. They didn’t skip a beat. So very thankful for everything they do each and every day.

“From our initial visit prior to relocating to Huntington, we felt St. Joseph Catholic School was a great fit for our then preschooler and toddler. Seven years later, we have three school aged children attending and continue to be impressed with the caring teachers and staff, the positive environment, and the challenging academic rigor. We truly feel a part of the St. Joseph family, and it’s the best place for our children’s education.”

It feels like family there and has been a great start for academic advancement and raising kind, responsible children.”

“During my daughter’s middle school years at her previous school, it became clear that she needed more than was being offered. We wanted a private school that had a good reputation. The decision to enroll our daughter is worth any amount or distance we must travel.”
Sheena Connors, Parent
St. Joseph the Worker School, Weirton
“We chose St Joseph the Worker Catholic School because faith is very important to our family. We feel that our son is not only getting a great education in academics but also, he is leaning more about God's great gift to us and how important keeping Him in your life is. We are so blessed to be part of St Joe's the Worker Grade School and Parish."

Notre Dame High School
I cannot say enough good things about how Notre Dame handled the transition to virtual school! I felt that it was easy to navigate, and everyone was always willing to help. We received calls regularly checking on my daughter and always felt the school was concerned for her wellbeing. She loved virtual school and many days I heard her laughing while on her Zoom classes with her classmates and teachers. They used social media to engage the kids with daily prayer which was wonderful! We had a great experience.
Beth Fantasia, Parent
Notre Dame High School
The uncertainty with the pandemic was paralyzing. In stark contrast, the execution of the educational plan for the students at Notre Dame was seamless and comprehensive. The teachers were easily accessible and quite supportive. The personal phone calls by the counselors and handwritten notes from the staff were comforting beyond measure! Proud to be part of the Notre Dame family!
Amy Neeley, Parent
St. Paul School
It is clear the love and passion for the students and their families at St. Paul’s starts at the administrative level and spreads through every staff member from the cooks, to the custodians, secretaries, teachers and parent volunteers.
During the stay at home orders, teachers and administrators were in constant contact with us and not just about schoolwork, but about how my family was doing emotionally as well. When you say St. Paul’s Family – you mean it.
Chris and Stacy Cullinan, Parents
St. Paul School
Inevitably, March 13, 2020 changed all of our lives. How were we to know that this would be the last time our child would be in her class? How do we as parents explain the world around us, let alone a worldwide pandemic, to a four-year-old child? Without hesitation or delay her St. Paul School teachers stepped to up the plate. Every day we received thoughtful messages from them, interactive conversations that encouraged them to talk with their classmates, activities and lessons, virtual tours of their houses, games, and stories. They created a sense of normalcy for the children when nothing around us was normal at all. We truly appreciate and are eternally grateful.
Michelle Turner, Parent
Notre Dame High School
I think Notre Dame could be used as an example of how other schools should handle distance learning during this pandemic and here are my reasons why:
- Other schools in the area did not start doing “snow packets” until over a week had passed in the stay at home orders. Notre Dame started right away.
- Each student had an iPad and was given work by each teacher as if they were in the classroom.
- Many teachers conducted classes virtually through Zoom sessions to connect with their students.
- School staff sent letters to students to let them know they were being thought of.
- And though the senior class this year (my daughter included) has missed out on a lot, they have tried to make them feel special by incorporating some of the school traditions into activities as the state opens back up.
Danielle Raddish, Parent
Notre Dame High School
What stands out about Notre Dame during this time is the strength of the bonds between the students and the teachers and the traditions. Even though the building is empty (during stay at home orders), there is a sense of connectivity and purpose. The students are finding creative ways to celebrate traditions and serve...and learn. The creativity and leadership from the staff and the students is inspiring. Even during this time of social distance, they feel supported, hopeful and connected to the Notre Dame family. It has been wonderful to see the students step up. Academically, it has been seamless. The communication has been wonderful! I love the way the students are checking on each other and the teachers are checking in on their students. It really is a family! Great job!
Keeley Cunningham, Parent
St. Patrick’s School
The COVID-19 pandemic threw our families, schools, and communities a complete curve ball. St. Patrick’s School remained dedicated to keeping our students in routine and learning. We had weekly assignments and our teacher used this time at home to incorporate life skills.
Kim and Keith McFee, Parents
Parkersburg Catholic Elementary School
As has always been in the case in the past, now more than ever, my husband and I find ourselves so thankful that we chose to send our boys to Parkersburg Catholic. During the pandemic, PCES has stepped up faster and more effectively than any other school in our area. The consistency that my boys received in their lessons and homework kept them on track because they knew what to expect and when to expect it. They also knew the consequences if they didn’t follow through.
I am moved by the amount of support that has been shown both to our boys and to us as parents. The principal, teachers and administrators reached out numerous times (some on a daily basis) to see if we needed any support in any way. Our children received constant encouragement from the staff at all levels.
The fact that grades still counted helped the kids to not lose focus while adjusting to their new learning environment. Because of the way PCES took control of the unknown, I believe that my children are ready for the next step in their education.
The teachers, principal and administration took on probably the biggest challenge in their careers, and they planned, and they focused, and they put everything into it they had, and it shows. They came together and they made the Crusader Family stronger and smarter.
Don Robinson, Parent
Notre Dame High School, Clarksburg
“In preparation of high school our son approached us and said there are two items that are important for his high school experience. First, he wanted to continue his Catholic education in an environment that valued the interaction with the Church. Secondly, he wanted to be able to build lasting relationships with his teachers and peers by being a valued student not a number. He found both at Notre Dame.”
