The most successful educational institutions have a strong endowment program at its core. For more information, visit http://wvcf.dwcministries.org.

TUITION ASSISTANCE

Each Catholic school in the Diocese has a tuition assistance program, whereby families who cannot pay full tuition benefit from the generosity of others in the community.

PLANNED GIFTS

  • Inclusion in a charitable trust
  • The creation of a charitable gift annuity

Before making any estate commitment or planned gift, please refer to your tax planner or financial and legal services provider. To learn more about planned giving instruments, visit the Catholic Foundation website’s Planned Giving Reading Room at http://wvcf.dwcministries.org.

CATHOLIC SHARING APPEAL

The Catholic Sharing Appeal (CSA) embraces the charitable, spiritual and educational needs of thousands of induvial families, helping to unite our various parishes, ministries and schools into one diocesan family. Through this annual diocesan-wide appeal, all donations to the CSA help fund ministries and programs that benefit the parishes, missions, schools, Catholic Charities West Virginia, and other Diocesan programs. The CSA provides a way for each of us to share our gifts and take an active role, not only in our local school or parish, but also across the state of West Virginia.

Young people are called to be witnesses of God’s love. Pope Francis encourages our youth to stay close to God so that they will have joy in their hearts. The 25 schools of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston allow children to be courageous witnesses of the Gospel. Through the generosity of thousands across the state, our children are better prepared for fulfilling and faith-centered lives through the education and support they receive in our Catholic Schools. More than 4,600 students benefit from these academically rigorous and spiritually enriched programs.

To ensure that our Catholic school administrators have the tools to educate and our students have resources to learn, funding from the Catholic Sharing Appeal assists in providing so many important ministries over the years, including:

• Professional development and training for teachers
• Tuition assistance
• School-based health services
• Enriched curriculum
• Camps, retreats and rallies for our youth
• Increased technology
